Brewers Get Deserved Desserts in World Series Program

With the exception of a single blip in Game 4, the Brewers' beatdown of the Rays in the 2026 World Series was more coronation than competition. The Brew Crew trailed after just 10 innings and their pitching kept the Rays' offense largely offline, giving up just 11 runs in their five-game victory to boost the franchise to its first MLB title.

So they deserve the rewards the 2026 World Series Program delivers. Along with the Postseason Collection bringing a William Contreras to Diamond Dynasty as the World Series MVP, the World Series Program finally gives great cards to Jackson Chourio and Jacob Misiorowski, who had clearly been held in abeyance in case either one was named MVP of the Fall Classic.

The Miz is the final prize of the Program, which retains the familiar structure of Postseason Programs past — lots of Moments, fewer Missions, and the need to do both for full completion — and is an appropriate prize: He doesn't have a single attribute below triple digits, his fastball is maybe the best single pitch in the game, and the rest of his arsenal will play well off of it. Chourio comes in far earlier, and is a Contact machine whose lack of Power is an easy Parallel Mod fix thanks to his very green stat sheet elsewhere.

Also on the XP reward path for the Brewers are Robert Gasser (Bobby Diesel if you're nasty), Cooper Pratt, Abner Uribe, and Christian Yelich, filling out what is now probably a top-three theme team in Diamond Dynasty. The Rays, vanquished with few good moments to show for it, get only Ben Williamson, Nick Martinez, Liam Hicks, and Chandler Simpson cards — and while the Simpson is hilariously good at everything but hitting for Power, there's not a lot of help here for that far less formidable theme team.

Contreras, unlocked by collecting all 49 of the Postseason Series players in the Postseason Collection, is a load and a half at the plate, with nothing worse than a 105 in his hitting attributes, and also boasts 99 Pop Time and 99 Arm Accuracy, giving him a great chance to throw out runners. While exactly how deserving Contreras was of MVP honors is debatable — Misiorowski did collect two of the four wins in the series, Chourio was more of a spark plug, and Aaron Ashby, overlooked by this Program entirely thanks to his previous Postseason Series card, was dynamite in relief — there is no question this is a great card, really only limited by its 48 Speed and right-handedness.

Spooky Program Haunts DD With Jorge Polanco, Randy Johnson

For the most part, the Spooky Program that has been dropping in parallel to the World Series of reality this week has been underwhelming. Yeah, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Kerry Wood are big names, but they're rarely treated like that within Diamond Dynasty, so all three appearing in this Spooky Program's XP reward path has been more "reminiscent of the late 1990s" than "appropriately scary for a Halloween-themed content drop."

But Jorge Polanco? That's a name that strikes fear in the heart of a DD player.

The switch-hitting Polanco has long been a fan favorite in Diamond Dynasty because of his ability to put a charge into pitches from either side of the plate as a second baseman, and this one — who is in Twins livery, and thus a flashback to a season far better than the -1.4 WAR campaign he just put together with the Mets — lives up to that reputation, with nothing worse than a 110 in any batting attribute save for Vision, where his 105 is obviously tolerable. Polanco also has 83 Speed, better than most big power threats, and should be fine at second as a defender.

The only real problem with this free Polanco being the Spooky Program's crown jewel is the somewhat wonky Program design: To obtain him, players will need to dabble in at least most of the Spooky-themed content on offer, from Conquest (20 Stars) to Diamond Quest (20 Stars for collecting either of two card rewards) to Mini Seasons (20 Stars for collecting a Clay Buchholz on offer) to Moments (four Stars each from five Moments) to Exchanges for Variants of various Spooky cards which appear to be merely cosmetically different. It's a little obnoxious to make nabbing a single card this labor-intensive, but at least we get a negative-image version of Bo Bichette or what have you along the way!

And also in keeping with a running theme for DD this year, Polanco might not be the best Spooky Series card thanks to one appearing in a Chase Pack: Randy Johnson is Chase Pack 32's featured player, and his Mariners-era card is very much fearsome, with its 95 Control being simultaneously its lone drawback and more blessing than curse.

Other News and Notes

  • There is maybe a chance that Randy will be a little cheaper than most Chase Pack cards thanks to guaranteed Chase Featured Player Packs in the Show Shop for the next week. There's a one-purchase 60,000-Stub option and a two-purchase 80,000-Stub option, and basically any of the high rolls will be worth the buy, but some of the snake eyes rolls — you could, in theory, pull three 91 OVR Adley Rutschmans! — are rage quit-ready. Caveat emptor!
  • This week saw the quiet release of the Multiplayer 9 Program, which has Hank Greenberg, Pete Hill, Josh Gibson, Garrett Crochet, and George Brett on its XP reward path, and the usual array of decent-to-good Packs along with them. It runs until the end of November.
  • While the end of the MLB Postseason does mean that content will begin to dry up in Diamond Dynasty, next week looks likely to be packed with a series of final bangs: Three 2026 Finest Programs are coming as part of Finest Week, which promises "65+ 2026 Finest players," and next Friday will see a roster update with attributes changing based on the Postseason, a new Event Program, Mini Seasons, and Conquest, and maybe most importantly, a new Legends and Flashbacks Collection that should be the last one of MLB The Show 26.
